Jordan Poole
I get it. He’s a rookie, but Jordan Poole is going to be forced into big minutes this season.
He must continue allowing Kerr to put his trust in him. However, that bridge will be shattered with more performances like this one. In 21 minutes, Poole shot 2-for-13 from the field and 1-for-7 from deep.
After a stellar preseason in which he had several notable performances, Poole showed his more inexperienced side against arguably the league’s best defensive team. There’s no reason to expect this type of performance to be the norm for the rookie.
Coming out of Michigan, many considered Poole a reach after the Dubs drafted him late in the first round. Then, after a few preseason outings, many were considering him a steal. Now, we may start to find the inconsistency of Poole may be one of his most frustrating attributes.
Even in the preseason, he shot under 40% from the field and from downtown. So, while he did have a few break out games, he proved that he may struggle at points, and against the Clippers, he did just that.
Against Oklahoma City on Sunday, Poole should have a chance to bounce back. He won’t be hounded by players like Patrick Beverley and Lou Williams.
