The Golden State Warriors will be without Stephen Curry for at least three months after the two-time MVP broke his left hand against the Suns.

It’s a sad reality, but the Golden State Warriors’ superstar will miss at least half the 2019-2020 season. If he misses three months, the reported bare minimum, he’ll be missing 45 games of the 82-game season.

This is obviously not ideal, and with the NBA lottery odds more spaced out, it doesn’t necessarily help Dub Nation that much to tank.

The worst three teams, at least this past season, had a 14% chance at the top pick. However, it was New Orleans, with the seventh-best odds, that secured the top pick. That said, the Warriors should at least get a quality pick if it’s not the No. 1 overall selection.

Let’s get back to Curry.

The two-time MVP was averaging 24 points, 6.7 assists and 5.0 rebounds. That might not be MVP-like numbers, but it is enough to be the best at almost each category on the Warriors. His presence will be missed.

With the Warriors facing 20-plus nationally televised games ahead of them prior to Curry’s return, the national reputation around the Golden State Warriors will change with each blowout.

Let it though.

The run may have come to an end for now, but it’s far from over.

The Warriors will get back Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry next season. They’ll have the addition of a lottery pick. Draymond Green and D’Angelo Russell will still be around. Those five will be a championship-caliber squad.

Everything is changing in Golden State, but it’s far from the absolute end of an era. It won’t be the end until after the decline of Thompson and Curry, but for now, they’re both going to be at back at 100% in the next several months.

With a three month timetable, the Warriors may not have the playoff-contending season they aspired to have. But, this may be a blessing in disguise as this roster will get to develop and prepare for that championship run next year.
