A curse must have been set on the Golden State Warriors this season.

There may not be a more unfortunate series of events to ever occur to an NBA franchise. The Golden State Warriors have been decimated in recent months.

Most recently, D’Angelo Russell was diagnosed with a sprained right thumb that will hold him for at least two weeks. The five-time Western Conference champions are plummetting off the face of the earth as countless injuries and free agency losses ravage the roster.

As we all know, this is one of many significant injuries to the Warriors’ core players. Within the last six months, players such as Kevin Durant, DeMarcus Cousins, Klay Thompson, Kevon Looney, Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and now Russell have had some form of injury.

The fall-off from being the undisputed favorites to win the 2019 NBA championship to now holding the worst record in the league is unprecedented. As of now, the Dubs are set for the biggest single-season drop in win percentage of all-time.

It’s a rough time to be a Warriors fan. The end of this dynasty has come rapidly. In addition to all of the injures, the Dubs are desperately missing the likes of Durant, Cousins, Andre Iguodala, Shaun Livingston, Jordan Bell and Quinn Cook.

Yes, it seems a new era of Warriors basketball is officially underway. Whether you like it or not, the franchise is running out of options. Golden State has a chance to reload in the offseason and make another title run in 2021, but for now, the team is hopeless.

The worst part of the situation is the fact that none of this has been the Dubs fault. An injury is something no one can predict and after years of being the beneficiary of good health, the Warriors luck ran dry.
