The Golden State Warriors should keep their eyes on the top draft prospect, LaMelo Ball.

The 2020 NBA Draft will prove to be a big one for the Golden State Warriors. One prospect they should be watching is LaMelo Ball.

Ball has a lot of hype around his name. This 18-year old prospect has been in the national spotlight since scoring 92 points as a sophomore in high school.

Avoiding a collegiate career, Ball has elected to play in the National Basketball League (NBL). Here, Ball is competing against other professional basketball players as he looks to solidify himself as a top pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.

In shocking fashion, the Warriors will likely find themselves selecting high in the 2020 NBA Draft. An unfortunate start to the season has left the Dubs looking at a league-worst 3-14 record.

As the Dubs prepare for a rebuild, LaMelo should be on their radar. He is already displaying a talent for passing the ball and finishing around the rim. If he continues to blossom as a shooter and athlete, Melo could have a big impact in the NBA.

Through 10 games with the Illawarra Hawks, Ball is averaging 14.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game. He has a bag of moves that help him embarrass opponents and get to his spots on the floor.

His only downfall as of now is his shot selection. Ball has a tendency for forcing up shots and as a result, his shooting percentage has suffered, shooting just 35.0 percent from the field.

Playing alongside Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson within Steve Kerr‘s offensive system would be the perfect remedy for Ball’s issues as a shooter. There is no doubt that Ball would have everything he needs to become an elite offensive player with the Warriors.

According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Warriors GM Bob Meyers is set to watch Ball play in Australia within the next few weeks. Here, Meyers will scout Ball and determine his potential fit with the team.

Whether the Dubs choose to keep their draft pick or not is yet to be seen but we can guarantee Ball is on their wishlist.
