The Golden State Warriors, if there’s interest, should trade Alec Burks in order to gain any type of future draft capital with the team sitting at 3-15.

There’s no denying that this season hasn’t started the way the Golden State Warriors had hoped. Just a few weeks ago, the goal was to maintain a playoff position until the return of five-time All-Star Klay Thompson.

However, two-time MVP Stephen Curry broke his left hand, leaving the Dubs helpless.

Add to that the fact that both Draymond Green and D’Angelo Russell have missed about half a dozen games, and the Warriors are currently in the drives seat for the 2020 NBA Draft’s No. 1 overall pick.

They’ve also accrued many quality veteran players that were hoping to come in and contribute to a championship-caliber team. Willie Cauley-Stein, Alec Burks and Glenn Robinson III have all shown more with Golden State than they had throughout their last few years in the league.

The Warriors may, being out of the playoff picture, want to auction off their veterans, many of which are on one-year deals and could contribute to teams with championship aspirations. Cauley-Stein, who has a second-year option, is the only one of the three not on a veteran’s minimum one-year contract.

That said, let’s dive into five teams that may want to deal for shooting guard Alec Burks, a guard averaging a career-high 14.9 points per game.
