The Golden State Warriors could get some reinforcements in the back half of their upcoming five-game East Coast road trip.

At full strength, the Golden State Warriors may be the best team in the NBA.

However, this season, they’ve been hampered by injuries. At 4-16, the Warriors will be getting some reinforcements in their upcoming road trip. After taking on the Heat in Miami, losing by 17, the Warriors will head to Orlando and then up the East Coast.

The Warriors have seen several key players downed by injury this season, and it’s certainly killed their playoff aspirations. Kevon Looney, D’Angelo Russell, and Jacob Evans III have all struggled to stay on the court this season.

The most important injury was to Stephen Curry. He broke his left hand after a drive into Suns center Aron Baynes in the team’s fourth game of the season. That said, they could be getting a few players back in their next few games.

NBC Sports’ Marcus White noted that the two players could return in the “final two games” of the team’s road trip.

"“Guards D’Angelo Russell (right thumb sprain) and Jacob Evans (left abductor strain) won’t suit up Sunday against the Orlando Magic or Monday against the Atlanta Hawks, but coach Steve Kerr said both players could return for the final two games of Golden State’s road trip.”"

The Warriors are almost already out of playoff contention. To even have a chance, they’d need to go on a winning streak immediately. With that unlikely, the Warriors management will likely be cautious of at least Russell’s minutes, not to put too much on the 23-year-old.

Russell is the Warriors’ best scoring option with Curry and Klay Thompson both sidelined. He’s averaged 24.3 points per game, a career-high, and his return will be a huge plus for the Warriors.

For Evans III, they’ll want to see what he’s made of. Evans has played in just three games this season, averaging six points per game. To continue his tenure in the NBA, Evans will need to show that he can continue to score with some competence.

Don’t expect Golden State to win games even with Russell and Evans, but they will certainly be more enjoyable to watch.
