3. 73 wins/Curry Unanimous MVP

April 13th, 2016

There may never be a better MVP campaign than Stephen Curry’s 2015-16 unanimous MVP run.

The entire regular season was about as perfect as it could possibly be for Curry and the Golden State Warriors. There was no hangover following their 2015 championship as the Dubs opened up the season by rattling off 24 consecutive wins.

Curry was magnificent during this stretch, averaging 32.5 points per game on 63.1 true shooting percentage. He drilled a career-high 5.1 3-pointers per game and ended the season with an unheard of 403 total 3-pointers.

Meanwhile, the Warriors kept rolling. Their 24 win streak was followed by multiple blow out victories as the Dubs went the entire season without dropping back-to-back games. By the end of the year, the Warriors had won a record 73 games.

As for Curry, he claimed the league’s first-ever unanimous MVP while becoming the first player to average 30+ points per game on 50/45/90 shooting splits. His efficiency was off the charts and he led his team to the most wins ever.

Had it not been for an unfortunate blunder in the NBA Finals, the Warriors would have looked back at this year as the greatest single season in league history.
