The Golden State Warriors loyal fanbase, although without Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, were still ranked favorably in FanSided’s Fandom 250.

In FanSided’s Fandom 250, the Golden State Warriors were ranked as the fourth-best NBA fanbase. The Los Angeles Lakers took the division’s top spot and the No. 2 overall spot. The Clippers and Raptors followed at No. 2 and No. 3 in the NBA division.

Overall, the Warriors were ranked the 34th-best fanbase. That ranking takes into account just about every genre possible. From artists to movie series to just about every major sports league, the Fandom 250 ranked them all and placed the Warriors in the top 40.

The ranking had three aspects that it was judged on. There was social following, which the Warriors 31.2 million. Their search score was given a 73.6 and then their fan vote secured a 67.1 rating.

That said, this season obviously hasn’t been ideal for Golden State. They’re one of just nine teams that have yet to win ten games and are looking at 21 losses in their first 26 games. That just isn’t the Warriors’ basketball that’s ignited their fanbase from the old-school Monta Ellis and David Lee days.

The Fandom ranking knew that. Here’s what they wrote on one of the league’s best fanbases.

"The dynasty may be crumbling, but from 2014-19, the Warriors gave fans the winningest five-year stretch in NBA history, posting a .785 win percentage. The long-tortured fanbase soaked in three championships, five Finals appearances, and were arguably one Draymond Green suspension, one Kevin Durant Achilles and one Klay Thompson ACL away from winning all five."

The Warriors aren’t quite the powerhouse that fans have grown used to, but that’s ok because they will return just as strong as ever. And, at the end of the day, this season could be a blessing in disguise as they’ll likely also secure a top-three pick.

Eric Paschall, that pick, Jordan Poole and D’Angelo Russell all will hold the future of this team, and from the looks of it, the future is in good hands. Assuming they don’t trade Russell, the Warriors will have one of the league’s next big 3 on their hands.

While it would’ve been nice to see them a bit higher, this ranking is certainly a fair gauge on where their stellar fanbase is.
