The Golden State Warriors are hitting embarrassing low points and Steve Kerr should be held accountable.

It’s hard to pin the blame on any single person for the Golden State Warriors horrid 2019-20 NBA season.

Things were doomed from the start. The Dubs knew this season would be difficult when Kevin Durant announced his decision to leave the franchise. Injuries to Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry only sealed the Warriors’ fate.

Through 26 games, the Dubs hold a 5-21 record. This is the worst start of the decade for Golden State and one of their worst overall. It’s hard to remember that just a few months ago the Warriors were competing in the NBA Finals for their fifth consecutive season.

All of the injuries that the Dubs have suffered are an easy scapegoat. However, at a certain point, no more excuses can be made for Steve Kerr.

The former Coach of the Year should be held to higher standards than this. As the fastest coach to reach 300 wins in NBA history we should expect Kerr to find a way through this adversity. Thus far, Kerr has done nothing to help the Dubs.

There simply is no excuse for some of their losses. Even with Curry in the lineup, the Warriors held a record of 1-3. Two of these losses came in embarrassing fashion to rebuilding units such as the Oklahoma City Thunder and Phoneix Suns.

Now, the Warriors are still dropping games despite a healthy Draymond Green and D’Angelo Russell in the lineup. With players such as Eric Paschall and Ky Bowman stepping up in such a big way, it makes no sense the Dubs are still struggling so mightly.

The Warriors have been run out of the gym by lackluster teams like the Atlanta Hawks and Charlotte Hornets. An overtime loss to the New York Knicks marks the lowest point of the season for the Dubs.

At some point, we have to look at Kerr and question his coaching abilities. Other great coaches have found solutions to great adversity. Kerr’s failure to adapt is leaving a bad mark on his otherwise strong resume.
