The Golden State Warriors stand alone as the best franchise in pro sports this decade.

The Golden State Warriors have been recognized for their dominant decade by being named the greatest pro sports franchise by Sports Business Journal/Daily. The NBA itself was also crowned as the best league of the 2010s.

Through the decade, the Warriors experienced unprecedented success. They pushed boundaries and changed what we thought was possible from a basketball team. At their peak, they may have been the greatest basketball squad ever assembled.

The 2015-16 Warriors are infamous for winning an NBA record 73 games. This team was only improved by the addition of Kevin Durant. In their first season with KD, the Dubs rolled to 67 wins and a 16-1 record in the playoffs to win their second championship of the decade.

Back-to-back Finals MVP’s brought the Warriors to three titles in four seasons and solidified them as a dynasty. Had it not been for catastrophic injuries in the 2019 NBA Finals, we may have seen this squad complete a three-peat.

Regardless, this decade has been historic for the Dubs. No other team has won more games in a five-season stretch than the Warriors did from 2014-2019. Steve Kerr became the fastest coach to win 300 career games and Stephen Curry rose to superstardom as the league’s first unanimous MVP.

Though the franchise is reeling due to multiple injuries and some big losses in the offseason, there is no questioning the impact they had on the game of basketball. It is no coincidence that the NBA’s overall ratings are down now that the Warriors are out of the playoff picture.

Their dominance was pure entertainment. Whether you loved or hated them, you had to watch. There is no doubt that the Warriors were the most prolific sports team of the decade and had arguably the most dominant run of any team in NBA history.
