The Golden State Warriors will be at the center of a myriad of rumors yet again this trade season. Will Draymond Green be involved in any?

There’s no denying this season has been tough for the Golden State Warriors. Through 35 games, they’re the worst team in the Western Conference, and while injuries can be to blame, it’s still tough on the organization.

However, many are also considering it a blessing in disguise as they’ll retain their 2020 first-round pick. They’ll, in fact, be looking at a top-three pick in the upcoming draft which will certainly help them reload for next season.

Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson will be back. But, a new development could spell a new round of Draymond Green rumors.

The Warriors have reportedly been monitoring Karl-Anthony Towns situation as he’s been unhappy in Minnesota, another team at the bottom of the Western Conference. Their lack of success may have KAT wanting out in the near future.

The point of adding KAT is to pair him with D’Angelo Russell. The two players aren’t just close friends but they’d be the cornerstone for any team’s long-term future. However, the Warriors certainly wouldn’t deal Russell, Thompson or Curry to bring in KAT.

Green and two first-round picks could be the idea.

While that still might not be enough, the Warriors have no business even monitoring a situation if they have no idea of what they’d propose. It also seems pointless to not pair KAT and Russell. To confirm their pick and to gauge the market for Green, any deal like this would likely wait till the offseason.

For now, it’s just a crazy hypothetical situation.

But, for the Warriors, who have seen Green regress since his three straight All-Star appearances a few seasons ago, it wouldn’t be too ridiculous to imagine them parting ways with the former Defensive Player of the Year.

That said, here come trade season with the early February deadline, and Draymond Green’s name is sure to be thrown around a little bit.
