The Golden State Warriors are monitoring Karl-Anthony Towns’ situation in Minnesota. But, what might it actually take to bring the young big to the Bay?
Just like every other team in the NBA, the Golden State Warriors are monitoring Karl-Anthony Towns’ situation in Minnesota. However, unlike every other team, there’s been reports of the Warriors’ close eye on the situation.
KAT has played with Minnesota since being drafted by the Wolves in 2015. Some of his numbers across the board are among the best of his career, and he shows no signs of slowing down at just 24.
He’s one of the league’s premier young big men and has been an All-Star the past two seasons. Averaging over 26 points and 11 rebounds per game this season, he’ll be on pace for his third straight appearance this year.
However, those don’t matter if you can’t win. The Wolves are a bottom team in the West just like the Warriors. The Wolves have no excuses though. The Warriors’ best two players are out with injury and have crippled the team’s playoff aspirations.
The Warriors want to rebound for next year.
But, not only for next year, the Warriors want to prepare for the long-term future. With one of KAT’s close friends, D’Angelo Russell, on the team, they have a leg up on a potential destination for the former Kentucky Wildcat.
That said, what if the Warriors did seriously want to bring in KAT. What’s the price tag? Let’s dive into a few hypothetical yet reasonable trades for the young superstar.
