The Golden State Warriors will likely take the best offer they can for forward Alec Burks, an offseason addition on a one-year contract.

There’s no denying this season has been rough for the Golden State Warriors.

After over 30 games, they are one of just two teams with single-digit wins; the other is the Atlanta Hawks. That’s not a good feeling after five straight seasons of representing the West in the NBA Finals.

The main culprit for the team’s lack of success is injuries as Stephen Curry has missed the bulk of the season and Klay Thompson has yet to make an appearance at all. Even D’Angelo Russell has missed numerous weeks with an injury.

Alec Burks, like Glenn Robinson III, is making the most of this opportunity. He’s taken the minutes and created a market for himself that wasn’t there when he signed a one-year, veteran’s minimum contract this past offseason.

Burks is averaging a career-high 15.6 points per game. He’s been absolutely crushing it with the Warriors also notching a career-high 1.6 threes per game. Both of those numbers could make him an attractive and relatively cheap target.

With the Warriors almost out of playoff contention and not looking to improve any time soon, Burks may be on the hot seat, although he’s noted that he’d love to stay in Golden State. That said, let’s dive into three potential trades involving Burks and the Warriors.
