Golden State Warriors: 3 likely trades for forward Alec Burks
Houston Rockets
Like the Celtics, the Rockets should be willing to give up their first-round pick for Burks. With both Harden and Westbrook looking to stay in Houston for the long haul, it may be worth stacking their roster for a championship run now.
The Rockets’ bench is arguably worse than the Celtics’.
Thabo Sefolosha and Ben McLemore line the backup three and four, and Burks would be a huge upgrade over each of those two. While McLemore is nearing ten points per game, what’s even more important to Houston is how efficient he is from downtown.
Shooting 36%, Burks is a more effectively three-point shooter, one reason the Rockets may look at the veteran forward. While it’s a marginal difference, Burks makes up for it with his playmaking and athletism.
While the Rockets starting cast is elite and Austin Rivers is a great addition on the bench, they need more depth at the forward position, and Burks could be the answer.
