The Golden State Warriors’ second-round pick Eric Paschall has had a huge impact on this team, but since his hot start, he’s cooled down tremendously.

The Golden State Warriors were hoping Eric Paschall was the second coming of Draymond Green earlier this year. The second-round pick has a bit more of an aptitude at scoring and a bit less of a tenacity on defense.

He started off the season cooking, easily being one of the best rookies in the NBA, if not the best for a short period of time. However, since Paschall’s fame has skyrocketed, his play has gone the other way.

Paschall had four points and two rebounds in the Warriors’ most recent loss against the Milwaukee Bucks, playing a mere 12 minutes. That loss has kept them at just nine wins on the season, still just one of two teams without double-digit victories.

That said, Paschall’s struggles against the Bucks were what’s been happening for the 23-year-old over the last few weeks. Prior to the Bucks game, Paschall, who has been recovering from an injury, averaged 6.9 points per game over his last ten.

This has taken his average all the way down to 14 points per game after being up just over 17. Paschall was a true threat for Rookie of the Year at one point this season before hitting this cool streak defined by is poor play.

He’s still not shooting that bad though.

Over that ten-game stretch, Paschall has shot 42% from the field. However, he’s been horrific from deep, shooting under 25% from deep. Sadly, it seems his inexperience has finally caught up to him, tag-teaming with the injury bug to kill his once stellar numbers.

The former Villanova Wildcat was the complete package coming out of college, and when he was called upon earlier this season, he was an absolute unit. Well have to see if he can return to that player later in the season, but for now, it’s alright to be skeptical of his long-term outlook.

Paschall needs to hit another good stretch of games at full strength for fans to have a renewed sense of hope surrounding his future.
