Alec Burks — Round 2

Generally speaking, it’s the same concept for the Houston Rockets as it is for the Boston Celtics.

However, for Houston, a few things are amplified. The importance of Burks’ contract is one, and their bench needs in another. While the Celtics have one of the worst benches, the Rockets have THE worst scoring bench in the entire NBA.

They stay afloat with relying on James Harden, the league-leader in points per game at 37.9. With Westbrook also on the roster and an elite starting five, the Rockets have built their core around the starters. They don’t have too many quality second-unit players.

Burks would be one, and he could, like with the Celtics, be beneficial for a long postseason run. Finally staying healthy, Burks has thrived with Golden State and has proven that he’s the same player that showed so much potential earlier in this career.

That said, the 6-foot-6 forward is worth a first-round pick, and the Rockets are bound to have one of the worst first-round picks in the 2023 draft.
