Golden State Warriors: 3 biggest disappointments so far this season
By Tony Pesta
2. Jordan Poole
It brings me no joy to say that Jordan Poole might be the worst active player in the NBA.
The 20-year-old rookie has plenty of raw talent and time to grow but his first season with the Warriors has been a nightmare.
Of all players to attempt at least 250 field goals this season, Poole ranks dead last in field goal percentage and points. He is shooting just 27.2 percent from the field and has connected on 41-of-160 (25.6%) total 3-pointers.
Poole is also one of the league’s worst defenders. His defensive rating of 109.0 places him in the bottom 300 of the NBA.
The Warriors are still hopeful that Poole’s deadly 3-point shooting that he displayed in college will translate to the NBA level. He has more than enough potential to become a good player and has been in bad positions with many of the team’s best players injured.
There is no reason to give up all hope on Poole but he has easily been one of the more disappointing players this season.
