1. Injuries

Is there anything that needs to be said? Injuries have decimated the Golden State Warriors and brought this rampaging dynasty to a dramatic halt.

For half of a decade, the Dubs dominated the league with few injuries. Their luck ran out in the 2019 NBA Finals when injury after injury ruined their chance at a three-peat. DeMarcus Cousins, Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson all suffered significant injuries during this postseason.

Any chance of reaching the playoffs was destroyed when Stephen Curry broke his hand early in the season. Without their collection of superstar depth, the Dubs were doomed. Of course, minor injuries to D’Angelo Russell and Draymond Green didn’t help either.

The Warriors are still awaiting the return of the Splash Brothers but it is far too late to make a push for the playoffs. Golden State will have to wait until next season to reclaim their spot as a top team in the Western Conference.
