The Overpay
Covington is again involved, and obviously, Russell is ending up on the Wolves.
Aside from the first-round pick, again meaning that the Warriors would enter the 2020 draft with two lottery picks, the Wolves toss in Jarrett Culver, the former Texas Tech star that was a top-ten pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.
The 6-foot-6 shooting guard has played 39 games this season, starting 26. He’s nearing a double-figure average; however, his percentages from both the field, under 40%, and three, under 30%, are concerning.
He’s a quality shooter, he’s a top-notch athlete, and he’s a player that could become a top-tier role player in the next few seasons.
Toss him in there, and it’d be difficult for the Warriors to turn down a deal that could result in both a better fit for their roster and two rising stars that could perfectly fit on their roster as well.
As of now, this seems like a bit much for Minnesota to propose, being the only real contender for Russell.
