Robert Williams

The Boston Celtics are coming off an absolutely dominant win over the Los Angeles Lakers. They looked as good as ever with Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum finally starting to blossom. Kemba Walker, the team’s leader, is also playing at a high caliber.

Well, those three along with several other quality contributors has left little time for the team to develop their young studs.

More from Blue Man Hoop

Robert Williams, a former first-round pick in his second professional season, is one of them.

He’s averaging 3.9 points per game on 67% shooting. While that’s not quite the production the Warriors would crave, he has shown enough to be worthy of a player on an expiring veteran’s minimum contract like Glenn Robinson III.

Williams isn’t the most attractive name to go after, but in the Warriors’ current state, they want to develop players that could get the feel for their organization and culture.

They want to help bring up the next generation of Warriors.

While the potential is still untapped, Williams could be the perfect trade target.

The Celtics, one of the top teams in the East, could look to deal Williams if it means enhancing their second unit, one of the league’s worst.

It could be a win-win.
