Boston Celtics and Alec Burks

Another player that should be on the block is Alec Burks who has easily been one of the best and most consistent Warriors this season. His value is a bit higher than Robinson’s, potentially returning a first-round pick.

Burks is averaging 16.0 points per game, easily a career-high. He’s also notching a career-high 3.2 assists and 1.1 steals per game. After a few tough seasons, Burks is finally playing up to his potential.

That said, Boston is the perfect place for him, although he’s made it clear he wouldn’t mind staying with the Warriors.

The Celtics have one of the worst scoring benches in the NBA. Burks could help change that, and he’d give them a reliable option on their second unit, something the team could desperately need in the postseason.

One a one-year contract, there’s no good reason for Golden State to keep Burks outside of just continuing their rewarding culture. It’s a business though, and as Burks is set to be a free agent, there’s no reason to hang onto him.
