Few players in league history impacted the game like Kobe Bryant.

The NBA world was left stunned on Sunday when they learned the news of a tragic accident that took the lives of Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna. Two incredible people who have gone too soon.

Regardless of if you rooted for Bryant on the court or not, there is no debating his greatness and the legacy he has left behind. Without Kobe, basketball would not be the same.

Entering the league as a teenage phenom, Kobe led one of the most storied careers in professional sports. An 18-time All-Star, five-time NBA champion and an overwhelming amount of other accomplishments both on and off the hardwood.

For the Warriors, Kobe’s influence was enormous. Stephen Curry has given praise to Kobe multiple times and credits him for giving game-changing advice in regards to being a leader and what it means to demand greatness from yourself and your teammates.

Steph also remembers an iconic moment in which he got the best of Bryant in-game. Curry delivered a cold-blooded 3-pointer over the 12-time All-Defensive member and earned a sign of respect from one of his childhood idols.

The other Splash Brother, Klay Thompson, has previously stated that playing against Kobe was always one of his favorite matchups. Thompson said that he watched Kobe the most growing up and idolized the way he maximized his potential as a player and person.

Kobe had an unparalleled impact on the younger generations. Nearly every current NBA player has a story about the Black Mamba and cites him as their inspiration.

For me, Kobe was the player who kicked off my love for the game. I will never forget all of the countless highlights he created and the championship culture he forced onto everyone who followed him.

The “Mamba Mentality” goes deeper than the game of basketball. Though he will be remembered for his dedication and competitiveness on the court, his approach to life is something that should be praised as well. The entire sports world will forever be mourning the loss of a legend.
