The Golden State Warriors likely won’t be in store for a blockbuster trade but don’t rule them out of the market quite yet.

One of the three players that had a high chance to be traded is no longer with the Golden State Warriors.

For the bulk of fans, Willie Cauley-Stein’s trade came as a shock. There weren’t many rumors prior to the 7-footers deal to Dallas. The Warriors returned one 2020 second-round pick, which, for most, seemed like a steal for Dallas.

However, that incognito style may just the nature of the Warriors as the trade deadline nears.

After all, the Warriors are most likely not going to trade star guard D’Angelo Russell. Aside from Russell, all signs are that the original big 3, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, and Stephen Curry, have no chance of being dealt either.

That leaves those other two players, Glenn Robinson III and Alec Burks, as the two prime targets for other teams. Robinson and Burks both signed one-year, veteran’s minimum contracts this past offseason.

Like Cauley-Stein, they were supposed to bring in stable leadership to a lacking second unit for a discounted price. With injuries mounting, those three were tossed to the wolves and came out even stronger with Robinson and Burks posting career highs virtually across the board.

Sadly, they weren’t able to consistently lead Golden State to victory, leading to the Warriors basically already out of championship contention even with just a handful of months left in the season.

As for the deadline details, there have been little rumors surrounding any potential move. That shouldn’t rule out teams targeting the two veteran players, but rather, it could mean that the Warriors endeavors just aren’t as exciting and won’t be as highly publicized.
