Utah Jazz
The Utah Jazz were the first team to give Alec Burks a chance.
Burks was a lottery pick for Utah back in 2011, but after several injury-plagued seasons, the Jazz shipped him the Cavaliers last season where he found his way to the Kings and then into the free agency pool.
He wound up with the Warriors, a decision that could’ve have gone any better for Burks.
It’s not just that Burks is scoring, but he’s also shooting at a career-high level, averaging 1.6 threes per game when his previous high was just 1.0. His 35.5% from deep is his exact career percentage which, while not great, is commendable.
The Jazz are a top-ten shooting team. With capable players at all positions, the Jazz, like the Celtics, are a bottom-five bench. They need to add talent on their bench to complement a starting unit that’s among the best in the league.
Like the Celtics, the Jazz are nearing championship contention, and they need that extra piece. Burks could be that player.
