This season isn’t going to get any easier for the Golden State Warriors.

The first half of the 2019-20 NBA season hasn’t been kind to the Golden State Warriors and the latter half is set to put them out of their misery.

According to Tankathon.com, a site dedicated to a number of unique NBA statistics, the Warriors face the third toughest remaining schedule in the league. The only two teams with a more difficult finish to the season are the Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns.

Holding a 10-37 record, the Warriors already have the worst win percentage in the NBA. A stretch of tough matchups will be more than enough to seal their fate at the bottom of the league standings.

The Dubs are still slated for two matchups with the LA Clippers (33-14), three against the Los Angeles Lakers (36-10) and one versus the Milwaukee Bucks (40-6). The Lakers and Bucks both sit atop of their respective conferences while the Clippers remain one of the favorites to reach the NBA Finals behind their dynamic duo of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.

Two games against the New York Knicks (13-34) and Cleveland Cavaliers (13-34) mark the Warriors’ easiest points of the remaining schedule with one showdown with the Atlanta Hawks (12-35) being their best bet of receiving a win.

It doesn’t take in-depth analysis the determine why the Warriors have struggled up to this point of the season. Injuries ravaged this roster before the season even began. With Stephen Curry’s return on the horizon, Golden State can at least look forward to implementing their two-time MVP with a young All-Star in D’Angelo Russell.

The second half of the season will bring more pain for the Dubs but they will almost certainly secure the top odds for winning the 2020 NBA Draft Lottery which is a convenient reward for a season that was doomed from the start.
