3 reasons the Golden State Warriors should be sellers this deadline
Expiring Veterans
The writing is on the wall for some of the veterans.
Cauley-Stein was already traded.
And, for the Golden State Warriors, it really makes no sense to hang onto Glenn Robinson III and Alec Burks, two veterans that have taken advantage of every opportunity they’ve been given in the Bay.
Both are averaging double figures. Robinson is notching just over 12 per game, more than doubling his previous career-high. Burks is at just under 16 points per game, the most of his career as well.
They can both score, and they are both on expiring contracts. This offseason, the Warriors would have to re-sign them regardless of if they finish the season in Golden State or not. Why not trade them then?
Robinson III is nearing 40% from downtown while Burks is a top-65 scorer in the league. They both have value to a team looking to contend, and the Warriors, given their play this season, should have multiple suitors for both players.
