Alec Burks stays a Warrior

Burks wants to stay in Golden State, but do they want to keep him? Maybe for the long run they do, but for the short run, the Warriors will likely be at least listening to offers for the 6-foot-6 veteran forward.

Like Robinson, Burks is on an expiring contract. That makes him attractive to playoff-contending teams that have little cap room. However, unlike Robinson, Burks doesn’t shoot quite as efficiently and isn’t praised as much on the defensive end.

Burks is nearing 16 points per game this season, easily the best of his career. He’s been giving the reigns to this offseason, and he’s performed well with them. He’s shooting just over 40% from the field though.

Most of the top-level teams have inefficiently scorers like Kemba Walker or Russell Westbrook. They don’t necessarily want to give up multiple picks or a first-round pick for a player that could step in and just be a low-efficiency scorer off the bench.

However, he has shown an ability to get to the rim and is as aforementioned on a low-value contract, boosting his value. Burks is a wildcard when it comes to where he’ll play in the coming weeks.
