Alec Burks to Boston
If Burks doesn’t end up in Utah, Eastern Conference contenders, the Boston Celtics, should take a hard look at him. The Celtics, like Utah, have one of the least productive benches in the league, relying on Kemba Walker and company for the majority of their scoring.
Marcus Smart and a few others are options for Boston. However, they aren’t Alec Burks. Burks has shown that he can score in bulk this season, and better yet, he’s proven that he can stay on the court.
Burks is shooting 37.5%, up 1.5% on his career percentage, from deep. The Celtics are currently the 15th-best three-point shooting team at just 35.7% from downtown. They could use the spacing that Burks could provide.
Boston has shocked quite a bit of people this season after watching Kyrie Irving leave this past offseason. No. 3 in the East, the Celtics could take that jump into true contention with a second unit option like Burks.
Like with Utah, this would be a win-win for both sides.
