Bolstering up on seconds is smart

The Golden State Warriors, as aforementioned, loaded up on second-round picks. They traded for five of them. Arguably both of the Warriors second-round picks from 2019 have been better than shooting guard Jordan Poole.

The Warriors have shown an ability to draft talent late.

From 2013-2018, the Warriors did not technically draft in the second round. They were busy building their roster to continue to contend. Now, they’re the ones looking towards the future, but thankfully, they’ll only be in their rebuild for one season.

The Warriors were never going to get anything more than second-round picks for Burks, Robinson, and Cauley-Stein, so it’s ideal that they were able to unload them for at least some return. There was a reason that all three signed for under $4 million each.

Returning five second-round picks is huge for Golden State, allowing them to guide their own future as far as the inbound talent goes.
