It’s time for the Golden State Warriors to rally behind their new star, Andrew Wiggins.

In the aftermath of a hectic NBA trade deadline, the Golden State Warriors are standing with a new potential franchise cornerstone in Andrew Wiggins.

After endless speculation, the Dubs elected to trade D’Angelo Russell and a number of other players to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Wiggins and a pair of draft picks. This is the most notable trade the Warriors have made at the deadline in quite some time.

It may be tough for some fans to see why the Warriors decided to trade Russell. At 23 years of age, the potential for D-Lo to take the torch from Stephen Curry was real. D-Lo has been improving each season and has a bright future ahead of him.

In Minnesota, Russell will team up with one of his closes friends, Karl-Anthony Towns. The two young stars will grow together and attempt to push Minnesota back into the playoff picture.

The Warriors will focus their attention on developing Wiggins. Only one year older than Russell, there is still time for Wiggins to emerge as a star. He will need his team and fanbase to rally behind him. Here are three reasons to be excited about Wiggins in the Bay Area.
