Only saw him with limited weapons

The Golden State Warriors didn’t give Russell much to work with this season, one reason they’re at the bottom of the Western Conference.

Last season, the Nets were able to surround Russell with other stars like Jarrett Allen and Spencer Dinwiddie. They helped lead the Nets on the offensive end, something Eric Paschall and Draymond Green haven’t necessarily been able to do this season.

Like with Monta Ellis, the teams that surrounded the two star points guards were never much to marvel at. While both struggled defensively, their struggles were not the entire issue with the team, although much of the team’s lack of success was put on them.

That said, Russell, had even just Thompson been back or Curry not had been hurt, could’ve had that dynamic second star to help take the team to the next level.

Sadly, he didn’t, and the result was devasting for his time in the Bay. He needed more than players on veteran’s minimum that were castoffs by other teams to succeed. That said, giving him limited weapons on a new team didn’t work, but could we have expected it to?
