2. Starting five

Curry, Thompson, Wiggins, Green, Wiseman

This starting lineup assumes that the Golden State Warriors land a top pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and decide to select James Wiseman. The towering center is an elite rim protector and his massive frame gives him great potential as a rebounder.

Wiseman has a lot to prove as a finisher around the rim but his raw defensive skill set makes him an interesting prospect. If the Warriors manage to add Wiseman to their already strong offense, this would be a very difficult team to beat.

As for the rest of the lineup, we already know what Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green are capable of. The three combined to bring the franchise to five straight NBA Finals and brought three championships to the Bay Area.

Back at full strength again, we can expect the original big three to play with a chip on their shoulders, eager to prove themselves as all-time greats once again. It can’t be easy for them to watch as the Warriors fall to the worst record in the league without them.

Also playing with a chip on his shoulder should be Andrew Wiggins. The former Rookie of the Year has been labeled a disappointment by many. His lackluster performances over the years have tainted his reputation. This is a new opportunity for Wiggins to succeed in the NBA and it’s doubtful he wastes it.
