Andrew Wiggins should be feeling very motivated to make his time with the Golden State Warriors meaningful.

For most of his young career, Andrew Wiggins has been criticized for playing uninspired. Now that he has been granted a second chance at stardom with the Golden State Warriors, this should no longer be a concern.

Wiggins has been deemed a disappointment by many despite posting some solid numbers in the last few seasons. He has averaged 20.4 points since his sophomore season and is consistently one of the league’s top-scoring forwards.

Still, the main issue for Wiggins thus far has been his energy level on the court. Some players have that “it” factor in them and it seems that Wiggins is lacking whatever “it” is.

There is no fire in Wiggins’ game. He rarely makes his impact felt and is often an afterthought on the court. Because of this, the former phenom has been labeled a role player and is expected to take a significantly reduced role with the Dubs.

For Wiggins, this should be the ultimate motivation. He has been doubted his whole career and now has an opportunity to become a big-time contributor for a championship-contending team.

Wiggins won’t have to lead the Warriors to victory, his star teammates will accomplish that for him. But, he can make his presence felt by being a force on the offensive end and an even more effective defender.

No one will look back at Wiggins’ career and call him a disappointment if he winds up being an X-Factor in multiple championships runs for the Dubs. The potential for him to save his reputation and etch a spot in NBA history is on the table for Wiggins. The only question is, will he seize this opportunity?

Well, if there was ever a franchise to get the most out of Wiggins’ potential it would be the Warriors. The system that has been built in recent years seems to always bring the best out of its players. Hopefully, Wiggins will be the next beneficiary of the Warriors winning culture.
