Jerami Grant

The Denver Nuggets are one of the Western Conference’s best teams. Also, they have Jamal Murray, and while he’s been terrific for them, he may not be the star that can take them to the next level.

Russell could have been. However, it’s not Murray that the Warriors would’ve wanted in return. It’s Jerami Grant. Had the Nuggets dealt Grant, they could’ve freed up more time for young star Michael Porter Jr. as well.

As for Grant, he’s averaging 11.3 points per game. It’s so much more than his scoring that the 6-foot-8, 25-year-old contributes. He’s a terrific defender on an excellent contract and is exceptional from downtown, nearing 40% on the season.

Grant is set to make over $9 million this season and will likely opt into his player option next season. That’s about a third of Wiggins deal, half of Gordon’s and still under Covington’s, making Grant a quintessential target.
