3. NBA Draft
The outcome of the 2020 NBA Draft Lottery is going to be gigantic for the Golden State Warriors. Nobody thought the Warriors would be lined up to receive the No. 1 pick in the upcoming draft only one season after boasting a lineup of five All-Stars. But, here we are.
If the Warriors continue to play at this pace, they will finish as one of the three worst teams in the association and be tied at a 14 percent chance to win the draft lottery. Winning the top pick gives them the option to either trade the pick for its maximum value or draft a potential franchise cornerstone.
Unfortunately, this draft class seems to be a weak one. No player has stood out above the rest as an easy pick and few have even shown the ability to be a game-changer. The only three players who are highly-coveted by most are James Wiseman, LaMelo Ball and Anthony Edwards.
Of this bunch, Wiseman might benefit the Warriors the most. A dominant rim protector who averaged 3.0 blocks per game before leaving the NCAA can help anchor the Dubs defense for years to come.
However, there is no guarantee the Dubs will have a chance to draft Wiseman. The Draft Lottery is wild and unpredictable, making this a huge x-factor for the franchise.
