3 Golden State Warriors that have the most to gain from this season
The Golden State Warriors have 26 games left in the season and almost a dozen new faces that have a huge opportunity in front of them.
After a discouraging loss to the Houston Rockets, the Golden State Warriors have dropped to 12-44. It’s been a tough season after five straight years of being able to represent the Western Conference in the NBA Finals.
After Stephen Curry’s lengthy injury in the fourth game of the season, it was known league-wide that the Warriors were in trouble. While this season has been discouraging, the Warriors are going to get a good look at multiple young, underrated players.
Trading Omari Spellman, D’Angelo Russell, Jacob Evans III, Willie Cauley-Stein, Glenn Robinson III, and Alec Burks prior to the league’s trade deadline, the Warriors brought in multiple new faces along with signing both of their two-way contracts to deals with the team.
That said, the Warriors will again have four players on max contracts entering next season. That’s one reason why these new signees and recent additions will have a good chance at making the 2020-2021 roster.
The Warriors, like they did this past offseason, need to fill out their roster with low-cost players. This team will have many options, and several players will have something to gain in the last 20-plus games.
Let’s dive into the three that have the most to gain.
