DeMarcus Cousins’ past success

Cousins has shown that he can play. Players on the market other than Cousins like Bismack Biyombo and Alex Len are either one dimensional or they haven’t quite shown an ability to truly change an organization.

Cousins has.

While it’s unclear the level he’ll return to, Cousins was averaging 27.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.5 blocks per game. He was a dominant All-NBA-caliber center that just ran into unfortunate injuries en route to his path towards dominance.

No one would expect him to return to that level of play, but even if he can return to the level of play he was at during the regular season for Golden State, he’ll be worth a look. Cousins was notching over 16 points per game on 48% shooting.

His past success will continue with him into the future, and even at a fraction of his past, he’s still a solid second unit option.
