There is no question about it, acquiring Giannis Antetokounmpo this summer would be the ultimate end game for the Golden State Warriors.

The Golden State Warriors have been on quite the roller coaster ride. All of their ups and downs may have been leading to one final end game: acquiring Giannis Antetokounmpo.

A meteoric rise to stardom for the franchise began in 2015 and reached an all-time high when Kevin Durant helped secure back-to-back championships in 2017 and 2018. Then, as quickly as they became champions, they plummetted to the worst record in the league this season.

Now, with multiple draft picks stashed away and a 24-year old blooming star in Andrew Wiggins, the Warriors have their eyes on the reigning league MVP. A trade package combining all of their assets could be enough to haul in Giannis on one condition.

The only way the Warriors will be able to trade for Giannis is if he wants to play in the Bay Area. Forcing his way to Golden State wouldn’t be too hard for Antetokounmpo and the Warriors have everything they need to pry him away from Milwaukee.

A core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green would arguably be better than the one they had with Durant. The Greek Freak is on pace to finish one of the greatest individual seasons of all-time, posing the highest PER (Player Efficiency Rating) ever and potentially leading the Bucks to 70 wins.

Antetokounmpo is rivaling the physical dominance of Shaquille O’Neal. He is taking full advantage of the pace-and-space era, killing teams with his otherworldly athleticism. Giannis is third in the league for total layups and is shooting an incredible 61.6 percent on his attempts.

The Warriors offer more spacing than any other team in the league with historically efficient shooters in Thompson and Curry. Throwing Giannis into this lineup would be complete destruction for opposing teams.
