The Golden State Warriors have a lot on the line regarding the 2020 NBA Draft Lottery. The results will be pivotal in deciding the future of the franchise.

Nothing can shape the Golden State Warriors’ future more than the outcome of the 2020 NBA Draft Lottery. A bit of luck could grant the franchise unlimited options moving forward.

Winning the lottery would be a blessing for the Warriors. Landing the No. 1 overall pick allows the team to either draft a potential star player or trade the asset for maximum value.

Currently, the Warriors are tied with the Atlanta Hawks and New York Knicks for the best chance (14 percent) to secure the top pick. They have over a 50 percent chance of landing in the top four but will be relying heavily on breaking into the top three.

This is because the 2020 NBA Draft doesn’t appear to be loaded with game-changing talent. At the top, players such as LaMelo Ball, James Wiseman and Anthony Edwards are the only ones receiving universal praise.

Even so, each one of these prospects come with major downsides. Edwards is a streaky shooter, Ball is a turnover machine and Wiseman’s offensive game is questionable. It’s possible that this draft goes down as one of the weakest in recent years. Still, their potential is higher than any of their peers.

Due to the lack of talent in this draft, winning the lottery is more important than ever. Pickings are slim and the Warriors need to secure one of the three players at the top of the rankings.

Whether or not the Warriors will use the pick for themselves or trade for a more readily available competitor yets to be seen. Rumors are swirling that the Dubs are prepping a trade package to acquire reigning MVP, Giannis Antetokounmpo. This would be much easier to pull off if the Dubs land the top pick.

Regardless of what the Dubs decide to do with their pick, there is no question that they will be in a better position for the future if they win the Draft Lottery.
