Scouting Report. 2. 125. Pick Analysis. G. Georgia. Anthony Edwards. player

The Atlanta Hawks front office has been diligently working to round out their lineup and build a contending squad around Trae Young. Talented prospects such as Cam Reddish, DeAndre Hunter, Kevin Huerter and John Collins make up their young supporting cast.

Since the Hawks have already made moves to acquire multiple centers, including Houston’s Clint Capela, there is no reason they should consider drafting anyone other than Anthony Edwards.

Edwards would be the ideal guard to pair alongside Young. His size and athleticism make him a plus defender and a bully with the ball in his hands. Edwards is a nice contrast to Young’s finesse and 3-point game.

Together, Young and Edwards could become a dynamic one-two punch. The freshman is averaging 19.5 points and 5.4 rebounds a game for Georgia and would be a homerun for Atlanta.
