NBA Draft 2020: Mock Draft for full lottery
By Tony Pesta
The Minnesota Timberwolves have doubled-down on attempting to keep Karl-Anthony Towns satisfied with the franchise by trading for D’Angelo Russell. The team still needs to round out their lineup and they can accomplish this by drafting Obi Toppin.
Toppin is a 6’9″ forward with great leaping ability. He is superb at finishing around the rim, averaging 19.8 points on 63.2 percent shooting. Toppin can also stretch the floor at a decent rate, connecting on 31-of-80 (38.8 percent) deep attempts this year.
Playing alongside Russell and Towns, Toppin is the perfect complimentary piece. He would act as the team’s third option on offense, a reliable scorer to carry his share of the load.
