The Golden State Warriors will be one of three teams with the highest odds to secure the 2020 NBA Draft’s top overall pick.

Winning their 15th game of the season a few nights ago against the Philadelphia 76ers, the Golden State Warriors are in the driver’s seat for the No. 1 overall pick. They’ll certainly have their options.

While some will pinpoint specific players that could fit well with the Warriors, traditionally, the fit is less important than the ceiling, especially with a pick as valuable as No. 1. That said, for Golden State, there’s one obvious need: Frontcourt depth.

The Warriors need help in their frontcourt as Kevon Looney has missed multiple weeks during the season. Even at full strength, this Warriors team, a team that will have little room to improve during the offseason, has poor depth behind Looney.

Throughout their history, dating back to 1947, the Warriors have had the top overall pick in the draft three ones, once in the 60s, 80s, and 90s. Joe Smith and Joe Barry Carroll were the only to that scored over 10,000 points in their career.

The Warriors top-overall picks haven’t been wildly successful, but they’ll have a chance to re-write that wrong. That said, here are three players that the Warriors must consider drafting if they’re awarded the No. 1 overall pick.
