The Golden State Warriors, prior to a league-wide suspension due to COVID-19, were eliminated from playoff contention in their loss to the LA Clippers.

The future of the NBA for the 2019-2020 season is definitely uncertain, but what is certain is that it will not include the Golden State Warriors.

Grasping only 15 wins and 50 losses, the Warriors lost any hope of a playoff spot when they fell 131-107 against the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night.

This shameful season is hopefully only an outlier from the previous seasons of the Warriors and is not reflective of where the future of the franchise is heading.

The past five years have held NBA finals appearances for the Warriors, three of these five appearances resulted in them achieving champion status. Though the Warriors are known for being a consistent playoffs bid, it is no shock that this season was a spiral of issues.

Prior to the start of the season, Golden State had many star players part ways with them such as Kevin Durant, DeMarcus Cousins, and Andre Iguodala. On top of that, they had to face the loss of Klay Thompson as he suffered a torn ACL in 2019 NBA Finals.

One might think that even after all this the Warriors could still manage to fuel the fire with what little stars they held on to, after all, they still have Steph Curry, right?

Well, technically yes, but as fate would have it, Curry broke his hand back in October and just recently made his comeback to the court in March only to be sidelined longer by the flu.

To add to the never-ending list of injuries, Draymond Green and Kevon Looney also succumbed to knee and hip injuries respectively.

As these stars dropped like flies and flew the Golden State coop, youngsters were left to step up to the plate.

Dragan Bender, who joined the Warriors on a ten-day contract, rose to the occasion for a bit as he played some of his best games including a 23-point game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday.

Ky Bowman in his rookie season has also tried to hold down the fort and is averaging 7.4 points per game.

Now, the damage has been done on this disastrous season, and the Golden State Warriors have been eliminated from the playoffs before it is confirmed that they will even be played this year.

Either way, the Warriors should be prepared to scrap this heinous season and go back to the drawing board to become more successful in the 2020-2021 season.
