Size

James Wiseman is by no means a small man. For a Golden State team that lacks frontcourt depth, Wiseman’s 7-foot-1 frame would fit in perfectly.

According to basketball-reference, Wiseman weighs a solid 240 pounds, but with elite NBA training, he should quickly bulk up. Sports Illustrated also noted that he has a 7-foot-4.5 wingspan and a 9-foot-6 standing reach.

He’s by far the most physically dominating prospect among the top five. The Warriors should crave that as the DeMarcus Cousins’ experiment failed quite horribly, and they haven’t been able to get much production from the center since then.

Wiseman used that to his favor at the collegiate level. Although he was only with the Memphis Tigers for three games, in those outings, Wiseman averaged 3.0 blocks per game and shot 77% from the field.

While it’s far from the only reason, his size will certainly be a factor for Golden State when considering who to take at No. 1.
