DJ Augustin

Currently, on the Orlando Magic, DJ Augustin will be a free agent at the season’s end, whenever that date is. While he has been paid well in the past, Augustin has seen a drop in production this season and could be looking at a veteran’s minimum.

The 5-foot-11 point guard is averaging double figures this season, but it’s still down 1.3 from last season. At 10.4 per game, Augustin is a proven scorer and could easily bring that to the Warriors’ second unit, one that will likely be among the worst scoring benches in the league.

Averaging 4.6 assists per game, Augustin is also a competent passer. The only true downside about his play is that, given his height, Augustin is a relatively poor shooter, not quite connecting on 40% of his shots.

However, with his price hopefully low, the Warriors should venture to look into signing Augustin. Having been in the league over ten years and out of the first round just once, being on a highly successful team like Golden State would be ideal for DJ.
