Matthew Dellavedova

Once an enemy of the Golden State, Matthew Dellavedova left Cleveland and then found his way back. He was never a star in the league and never will be a star, but he does several things better than the bulk of point guard that will hit free agency.

For starters, if you watch him play, you can tell his heart. He plays with passion, and it’s obvious in some of the late-game rebounds he’s able to snag up. Not to mention, Delly, as most call him, is a competent shooter and solid playmaker.

While his second stint in Cleveland has been disappointing, Delly has a track record of success. But, looking at his most recent stats is heart-breaking as he’s averaging a career-low 3.1 points per game on 35.4% shooting.

It’s never been about the stat line for Deelavedova. While on paper it’s nice to see, Delly’s energy and leadership that’s brought on a nightly basis should be far more important and the season he’s considered to backup Stephen Curry.
