Stephen Curry, the Golden State Warriors superstar point guard, signed an open to continue drastic action towards the prevention of COVID-19.
While CEOs may be the behemoths of the corporate world, they may not have as much impact as a superstar athlete. That’s where Stephen Curry’s importance, both to his basketball and to society, comes into play.
It’s no surprise to hear that everyone isn’t the biggest fan of Curry. While they may hate him for his dominance and transcendence on the court, they should, at the very least, note his immense off-the-court impact.
From making videos promoting awareness to being an impactful player in secure a check for many Chase Center workers outed by the coronavirus to feeding some of San Francisco’s children that will be without food, Stephen Curry has gone about and beyond the last few weeks.

He could’ve stopped and taken the rest of the time to recovery from his own flu, but he did not. Curry’s race towards assisting the prevention of the lethal coronavirus continued as he was the only athlete to sign an open letter that will continue to challenge the status quo regarding work.
Mainly signed by CEOs, Monte Poole, a columnist for NBC Sports, wrote that there were over 400 impactful members of society to join in on the fight. He also noted that Curry was the only athlete to sign.
"Curry joined more than 400 American CEOs in signing an open letter challenging all business executives of similar authority and influence to take dramatic measures to combat COVID-19."
Some aren’t taking this virus as seriously as the Warriors’ point guard, but it’s of utmost importance to Curry.
However, it’s more than just the virus; it’s about leaving a lasting impact. Curry, who has made it a point of importance to continue his work in the community, has come to the rescue when the community has been tested the most.
The three-time champion and two-time MVP is a superstar athlete that we should not take for granted.
