The 2020 NBA Draft is going to require a bit of blind luck from the Golden State Warriors who are projected to have a top pick.

Once the world finally overcomes the COVID-19 pandemic, the Golden State Warriors will face a tough decision regarding the 2020 NBA Draft.

Drafting the correct player is always difficult. It’s nearly impossible to accurately predict which prospects will succeed at the professional level and there is an infinite amount of factors that can affect a player’s transition to the league.

This year, the margin for error is even more narrow. Due to the cancellation of the NCAA’s tournaments, we have been robbed of an opportunity to see some of the top collegiate prospects battles against each other.

This makes it hard to make full conclusions on players such as Obi Toppin. The Dayton star has had a strong sophomore season but has yet to play against the high-tier competition.

As for the rest of the top prospects, many have already had their seasons cut short. James Wiseman had already ended his time in Memphis while LaMelo Ball suffered a season-ending injury a few months ago.

With all of these small sample sizes, the Warriors will have to make a Hail Mary decision on one of these prospects. It seems it would make the most sense to draft their biggest need and hope for the best.

This is likely going to be Wiseman. The seven-foot big man has the potential to be a stifling rim protector and could blossom into a beautiful two-way player for the Dubs.

As of now, the Warriors are tied for the best odds to win the 2020 NBA Draft Lottery. It is uncertain when the NBA will resume play and continue functioning normally but it is certain the Dubs will have some tough choices to make once the league returns.
