Mending the holes
For the past few offseasons, the Warriors have had little opportunity to upgrade their roster. With Curry, Thompson, Green and Kevin Durant, there really was no need to find even more talent anyways.
Well, now they’ll need the help, and they’ll have the ability to get that help with their high-value 2020 first-round pick. They are projected to have the No. 1 overall pick. Who should they take with that? A few prospects would truly help take their team to the next level.
James Wiseman, the 7-foot-1 center from Memphis who played in just three collegiate games yet showed superstar potential on the defensive end would be a huge asset to this team. At the same time, maybe they opt for Anthony Edwards with their top pick.
The standout from Georgia has been just as impressive and has a might higher ceiling offensively. Both solve some issues either in the frontcourt or with additional depth at the three. At the end of the day, both will mend some holes for this team, helping them improve even more.
That said, once the lottery awards them a top pick, the ball will be in their court with how to proceed in building a potential championship roster.
What we do know is that, regardless of what they do in the draft, this team will return to contention in 2021.
