Eric Paschall’s development

The Golden State Warriors had a late first-round pick and two second-round picks during the 2019 NBA Draft. Typically, those aren’t great odds to find a player that will have the impact that Eric Paschall did this season.

Whether the season continues or not, Paschall has already shown enough to vastly increase his long-term value. The 23-year-old spent five years in college, three at Villanova, a perennial March Madness favorite.

In that time, he crafted his game to one that would thrive at the sport’s highest level. And, that it did. Paschall averaged 14.0 points per game while shooting 49.7% from the field. His three-point shooting wasn’t great, but he was good enough to keep defender’s honest.

There was no telling what a second-round pick was going to be able to give this team coming into the season. But, on a team that would give him ample opportunity to thrive, Paschall took full advantage of just that.
